How to release music on Spotify
Spotify receives releases through distributors. Choosing delivery and accessing the artist dashboard are separate steps: arrange distribution first, then manage your profile.
🚚 Choose a distributor
Spotify says distributors deliver music and pay streaming royalties. Compare fees, commissions, support and contract terms. Signed artists should first ask their label about its existing delivery route.
🔑 Access Spotify for Artists
Request artist access and provide your website or social link to verify your identity. If your artist team already exists, ask its administrator to invite you.
🔗 Before your first release
Ask your label or distributor for your artist link or URI and the UPC or EAN of your upcoming release. Spotify provides a separate procedure for requesting access before the first release.
📁 Prepare your release materials
- Final audio master
- Artwork and release title
- Artist and songwriter credits
- Rights and licences
- Recording and release identifiers, if assigned
- Release date and existing artist links
🛠️ Prepare a release in maak
Keep your release information and assets together in Distro. Check the current delivery options with support before ordering: availability and timing depend on the selected provider and platform.

⬆️ Can I upload a track through the artist dashboard?
Spotify recommends working with a distributor for music delivery. The artist dashboard handles profile management, promotion and statistics.
👥 What if my team already has access?
Ask the existing team’s administrator to invite you rather than creating a duplicate claim.
